Laura had a fairytale Wedding in The Village Chapel on Bald Head Island. She looked like a porcelain doll with her delicate features. Spring and Summer Makeup for Wedding’s and All Occasion’s is prettier than ever. After years of telling women to choose between strong eyes and strong lips, both can be strong. This actually helps balance out the trends of the black and white power suits, floaty nightgown dresses or white eyelet sheaths. How wonderful to actually have options, we can ‘flirt with glamour’ this season….which is exactly what us girls love to do.
Brows are strong this year….so don’t over tweeze…. just keep them groomed and arched, add highlighter to the brow bone….. it adds glam to the entire eye area. For us mature girls it gives us an instant eye ‘lift’ …. a makeup trick for younger looking eyes.
While the hottest runway looks involve wearing a fiery orange red lip most of us aren’t even close to looking like Audrey Hepburn or Ava Gardner; so it’s best to go with a strong matte lipstick in peach or pink. ( lipstick, not lip gloss). The key to great looking lips is a a lipstick that’s satiny, a silky look that’s not too dewy and not too matte — add a light foundation, triple coat those lashes with black mascara or false ‘demi’ lashes … and darling, your … ‘Good To Go!”

The best makeup tip for photography is perfectly matched foundation to your skin tone. It’s a science to match foundation and individualize it to your ’unique’ coloring and skin type. It’s necessary to ’color code’ you in natural light using 3 or 4 shade stripes at the chin line. Once they dry the shade that disappears without demarcation is the one for you! Donna has normal skin tone variations, so with a few corrections and concealer in all the right places her skin tone was balanced and flawless …..’camera’ ready for her photography.
As your Makeup Artist I want you to be able to recreate the look after our session and duplicate it on your own. My goal is to inspire you, …that’s the greatest joy in my work.

Julie’s sisters Holly and Amy wore ‘little black dresses’….with a single strand of pearls. Makeup and Hair design kept within Julie’s ‘Romantic’ theme.

This season we’re seeing RED….it’s gorgeous and it’s everywhere…..definitely THE color this Winter. Red is a luscious eye catching color so our Makeup is bolder to give us a brilliance to match. Lip shades range from clear red to ruby, or like Angelina try a brick red liner all over the lip and top off with clear gloss. Eyes are dramatic in smokey gray or deep brown, lined at lash line in black. Heavy on mascara, or use false lashes and always add a shimmer eye shadow at brow bone to highlight and lift the eye. With a touch of bronzer in deep rose your glamorous look in complete…your ready for any occasion….beautifully.
